I think both are good states (from an objective standpoint) and are incredibly underrated. But I'd go with Alabama because it has beaches, is part of the southern Appalachians, and would be closer to states I'd like to visit if I lived there (FL, NC, SC, GA, TN).
Only notable city close to Oklahoma is Dallas... there's really nothing else near it. Alabama is surrounded by a lot of neat places within driving distances and beaches. The scenery of Alabama alone probably puts it ahead of OK for me.

So Alabama has even prettier mountain scenery than Mount Scott or Cavanal Hill?
Oklahoma for the lake shore. Alabama for the beach front property.
Oklahoma is Western South/Southwestish and Alabama is the heart of the Deep South.
Both have a lot more to offer than college football and BBQ. Great folks in both states.
