As a native of Middletown...Ohio...I remember meeting a fellow Middletonian, from Connecticut. Turns out there are a lot of Middletonians….like 185,000!

What other cities/place names have somewhat substantial populations if added together?

I had my mother in assisted living in Middletown RI until 3 years ago. Years ago, I’d occasionally meet up with friends who had a Middletown summer house and hung out on 2nd and 3rd beach. Flo’s Clam Shack on the Newport line at 1st beach has good clam cakes. Other than when my mom was there, I’ve always use Newport and Middletown was just something I drove through.

I’ll vouch for the Dublins! Interestingly, the two biggest Dublins (CA and OH) are also some of the fastest growing cities in their respective states. Dublin CA is ~62K, Dublin OH 46K and Dublin GA is 16K, I’d hazard that for the list in its entirety it would be something near 150K.

Dublin, AL - Montgomery County
Dublin, AR - Logan, County
Dublin, AZ - Graham County
Dublin, CA - Alameda County
Dublin, FL - Lake County
Dublin, GA - Laurens County
Dublin, IA - Washington County
Dublin, IN - Wayne County
Dublin, KY - Graves County
Dublin, MD - Hartford County
Dublin, MI - Manistee County
Dublin, MS - Coahoma County
Dublin, NC - Bladen County
Dublin, NH - Cheshire County
Dublin, NY - Seneca County
Dublin, OH - Franklin County
Dublin, PA - Bucks County
Dublin, TX - Erath County
Dublin, VA - Pulaski County

Another good one is Aurora - Google says there are 20+ Auroras of the US, the biggest ones which you might be aware of being Aurora, CO (369K) and Aurora, IL (200K). Collectively the two of those would be a major city in my book!

EDIT: The two Auroras and the two Arlingtons (TX and VA) might just be the biggest city pairs with a shared name. But feel free to prove me wrong!

EDIT #2: I’m also gonna shout out Irvine, CA and Irving, TX as my favorite almost-pairing

Fun fact. Arlington, Texas, is the largest city in the country with no mass transit.
