Las Vegas is cheaper for a reason. It has a horrible location and an economy that revolves around low-wage tourist industry.

Sac is nothing special, just a ubiquitous state capital -albeit a very diverse one. Don't get me wrong, as far as state capitals go I would put it easily in the top 10. You could do much worse than Sac.

Pre Covid, Sac was seen as an "up and coming" city. We shall see what the future holds, but this work from home with the tech companies has people moving here in droves from the Bay Area. We are starting to see home prices shoot up like they did in Denver, Portland, and Austin.

One of the towns just outside of Sac wins.

I don’t like gambling. To me the only advantage Vegas has is taxes.

I personally like the burbs of Vegas alittle more than Sacramento. I don’t gamble either though so Downtown Vegas does nothing for me particularly. Sacramento puts you decently close to SF.

Does anyone know if Sacramento is cheaper nowadays compared to Las Vegas? I've been seeing the rents skyrocket in Las Vegas recently.

Where would you rather live? Based on:

Politics:
Culture:
Location:
Economy:
Diversity:
Access to other areas:
Entertainment:
Anything Else?:

Politics: depends on your affiliation.

Culture: LA west (vegas) vs bay area west (sacramento)

location: hands down SACRAMENTO. Anyone who debates this is an idiot.

Economy: oof, this is tough. Vegas is up and coming and Sac's economy is a govt town. Gotta lean Sac here but Vegas has much more potential

diversity: Sacramento wins hands down It's one of the most diverse city in the united states

entertainmetn......lmao cmcon man. Vegas wins HANDS DOWN.

VEGAS is a cheaper option with alot to do.....but you'll feel isolated. Sacramento is more expensive but you're paying for the proximity to SF, SJ, oakland, tahoe, Reno, etc......
