I wouldn't sell Charlotte so short because it's home to the 2nd largest banking industry in the U.S. Detroit may be more prominent, but Charlotte isn't a slouch.

I think you must have this impression from a general lack of exposure. If all you have to go on is the 50 year old pop culture narrative of decline in Detroit proper you have a lack of understanding of the impact it still has globally. Detroit is ranked appropriately.
