1. Florida
2. North Carolina
3. New Jersey

I grew up in, and love, the New England coastline. But as others have said, it's as much "coastal' tourism vs. pure beach tourism. Meaning, many people that go there are doing things other than parking themselves on the sand for 6 hours a day. Perhaps I'm taking this too literally, but that's how I'm reading it.

You "don't associate beaches with the east coast"?

You realize the second word in "east coast", is actually "coast", right?

LOL

Agreed here. Id flip NJ and NC, but MA would solidly take #4 if going based off of beaches.

NJ has expansive large sandy white beaches, pretty rare north of NJ. Spots of LI, MA... but nothing like NJ.

FL - East Coast, Biscayne Bay
SC - Myrtle Beach - Surfside Beach down to Pawleys (further south away from the main drag hi-rises)
CT - Yeah CT and F off, I don't care what anyone thinks

Heading to Kiawah this weekend. For those that haven’t experienced SC beaches, you are missing out. Golf, biking, fishing, kayaking, high 60s temp, all in February. Love the Outer Banks, but all things being equal, I’d rather be near Charleston.

Too many people have come to Charleston. It's not like it used to be, not the same anymore. Road condition here is terrible too, potholes everywhere.

That is one of the reasons why I prefer GA and NC to SC.
