What's the living wage in your metro area (single person, no children), and do you feel it's accurate?

For my area (Manhattan KS) it's $13.25. I'd say that's about accurate. It wouldn't be easy, but you could support yourself without going into debt on a wage like that if you were financially prudent and disciplined. If you're financially reckless, forget about it.

Denver's is $17.40. I definitely wouldn't call that living.

In Seattle it shows $18.56, though I have no idea how even one person could live on that with the average rent for a studio at $1,617, so monthly pay is $2,969, rent would be more than half. That's not a living wage to me, it should be more like $30/hour to have rent at 1/3 of income.

It doesn't mean average income, just a minimum to survive. Someone earning that money wouldn't live in the average unit, or even the average apartment. Not by themself at least.

In Seattle itself, someone below $30 would often not have a car, so might reasonably do 50% (or at least that's what a lot of people do). Or they might have a roommate.
