Millyz is low-key nice with the mic. I just started hearing about him from a No Jumper interview a few months back. It seems like he's blowing up now in a big way.

Phoenix for sure, why is Seattle even on the poll? I"d consider them a legacy hip hop city.

Millyz is talented but it’s a definitely shame he gets all the shine when Boston has several better emcees. Racial politics imo.

I’d have immediately placed 8 Zipp and Mizzie Cash over him, and of course Chilla Jones.

Fwiw Coi Leray has a new song out called ‘Anxiety’ working out a way up the charts. I know people will contest her ‘Boston’ but she claims it and reps it. Shes plugged in with many Boston rappers.

Teamarr (RnB, Mattapan MA) was recently signed to Issa Raes new music label

Off of sir mix a lot (that shouldn’t count) and who else? I.e. what’s the legacy? Boston has a much larger hip hop legacy, Dallas maybe too. Thank to My Dougie and Stanky Legg...

All cities included on this poll make sense.

For as big as Dallas is it’s definitely not established.

The biggest rapper from Dallas i know is Dorrough or Yella Beezy. Maybe Lil Will? It’s not established. Now there are new rappers in Dallas but given how massive it’s black population is and contrasted to Houston? it’s a huge underachiever. It’s kind of riding on Erica Banks, Asian Doll right now.

Not even sure why people think it has the poppin rap scene?

True, I'm hip to the talent in Boston. I been tapped in for some time. Interestingly, the host of No Jumper (a white guy from Nashua, NH) actually alluded to this a bit a while back. Back in the 90s when Eminem blew up, he mentioned the radio stations in his town only playing rock/country music and only playing hip hop once Eminem blew up on the scene.

I actually thought Coi Leray was from Jersey. I know her dad's from Boston tho. That song is nice btw. Idk why so many music vloggers seem to joke on her. Her music isn't that bad.

8 Zipp is nice. I heard a bunch of his tunes too.

Hip hop in the 80's is way more significant than the copy and paste stuff that came after it.

I remember listening to "Posse on Broadway" when I was a kid and not even realizing it was about Capitol Hill.

Coi Leray was born in Roxbury moved to Jersey wen she was little but she be poppin up in Boston because her relatives are there. You’ll catch her in a Celtics jerseys or chilling by in a triple decker, she says “Boston is in her blood”. Her brother Chavo was raised IN Boston and he’s definitely better than her. My favorite song of his is “Michigan” (1M+ views). He’s under some NYC label now.

Mizzie Cash was the next 8 zipp but he got charged with homicide last spring. He follows me on Instagram last week and says “he’ll be home soon” Mizzie Cash got the Gillie Da Kidd co-sign. To, went down to Philly w/ him and all that. He’s ratchet and a mess though. Real real bad/disagreeable/aggressive attitude and unorganized with his music distribution. Some of his best songs are only on SoundCloud.
