Nashville deserves an honorable mention. It's the home of US Smokeless Tobacco. However, that subsidiary is owned by Altria, which is HQed in Richmond.
Winston-Salem is probably the one most associated with tobacco in the minds of most Americans; but in reality it's Richmond in terms of the business end of it.

Lexington KY had an entire tobacco warehouse district that was nearly 1 mile long. Much of that tobacco went to Louisville cigarette factories. All the those old warehouses were redeveloped as they are next to the Univ of KY. I can still remember most of them being around as late as the mid 1990s.
