Chicago- 518( 512 as of 9/25)

According to sun-times tracker, September has ended with 70 murders, placing it right on track with a prediction I made in previous post. Now that the last of hot months has come to pass, the remaining three months should be less tense.(Notwithstanding of the time when the city seen a record 117 homicides for November during the most murderous year ever).

Meanwhile, St Louis unlike most cities this year is struggling with back to back daily homicides.

Good news is that if homicides continues to cool off going into the last 3 months it should end around 2015/16-2019 numbers.

New Orleans becomes murder capital of America, overtaking St. Louis
New Orleans has seen 52 homicides per 100,000 in 2022 as of Sept. 11.

Here are the top 4 cities with the highest murder rates in the country and it’s been that way for a while now “ unfortunately “

#1 New Orleans
#2 St Louis
#3 Baltimore
#4 Detroit

The bottom half is surprisingly

#5 Cleveland
#6 Las Vegas
#7 Kansas City
#8 Memphis
#9 Newark New Jersey

I wonder what happened to cities like Gary Indiana & Little Rock ?

They must be only looking at cities with a pop of 300K & up. If not than someone overlook Jackson at 62 per capita.

Atlanta is now actually down from 2021 for a change, even though only by 1 (120 compared to 121 the same date of 9/24 in 2021). Hope that continues or better yet widens the spread.

I would love to see violent crime rates for MSAs just to show how stats can be misleading.

Yep, always overlooking Jackson, and prematurely saying New Orleans is the murder capital is also weird.
