Family's and friends will describe anyone as the second coming of Jesus. Sounds like he turned his life around but revenge killings have no expiration date.

Maybe. Equally likely could be some kind of domestic dispute. Or a perceived slight. People have been killed for some pretty dumb stuff and it can be hard to tell what will set someone else off. In any case, his death is a real loss.

Remember that homicides in this country are mostly within the same social & criminal networks by an elephant scale compared to strangers.

Chicago- 578

4 killed on Saturday, bringing the total to 60 currently for the month. Two of the deceased include teens: a 17-year old male found shot dead while in the passenger seat of a car in an alley of the Near South side/South Loop area, and an 18-year old was traveling through a block in the Lower West side/Heart of Chicago neighborhood when someone shot him.

The number of homicides for the year are still down by over a hundred compared to 2021, but this October is just one short of being equal to last year's count, and there are two days left.

Jacksonville has hit 131 as of this morning, possibly 132 if the person shot last night in critical condition doesn’t make it

Chicago- 579

A 20-year old woman was standing on the sidewalk around 3am when shot in the head by someone in a passing vehicle in the Montclare neighborhood on the Northwest side. This makes the first homicide of the year in the neighborhood.
