2 in Fort Worth. One article stated that both were shoot in the same house another that one was shoot and one was stabbed but they both have subscription blockers so it's hard to get the full story.
Let's not forget about climate change, too. Wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, heat waves--all increasingly deadly.
We have a lot of s**t to deal with before our country starts to get to some semblance of "normal" again.
Not sure if statistically these are more deadly on a percentage basis than before. We dont have 1900 Galveston style death counts with hurricanes anymore where 10,000+ are killed. Infertility, lower international immigtation, and cost of having kids will affect US population growth the most. Now if we have some cataclysmic event like Yellowstone or Cascadia then thats a different story.
Homicide rates increasing makes it worse. Hopefully these light bails for violent criminals comes to an end in 2022. They were a whole third of Houston's murders last year for example. That is just crazy.

The issue is even if these Homicides were taken out of the equation. Houston still has 330+ Homicides last year. I feel like with how crime has been dropping, by 2030 we should be seeing 150 Homicides per year in our city. Because even through this recent spike, overall crime was starting to dip below 1960s level of crime. So while violent crime, especially Homicides are up. Regular crime is down so significantly that you would think demographic pressures would mean less criminality in future generations…
Jacksonville at 4. Homicides were down in 2021 30% compared to 2020. We shall see if that trend continues.
