Similar thing in NYC during the early Bloomberg years
Began with 587 homicides in 2002, increased by 10 in 2003, 570 in 2004, decreased to 539 in 2005, then went up to 596 in 2006,
The dangerous areas was still bad during those years but not warzone like unlike the 70s to mid 90s.

And last year, with an increase in murders in NYC and a decrease in Boston, both cities had roughly the same murder rate.

Fort Worth is now at 17. A few days ago a man in his upper 20’s was found injured on a sidewalk in East Fort Worth near the intersection of I-30 and Loop 820. The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition and unfortunately died Monday night.

90+ murders in Chicago. Major crime us up 34% over last year It's been a really rough week so far. You can say what you want about other cities but Chicago gets the media it gets because the level of serious violent crime is surreal, dangerous, and a persistent social malady that touches so many people personally. To not talk about that would be to rob many black and brown victims of the voice that especially wealthy white people in Chicago fail to listen to.
