Bleak. Not growing much and high crime. Hopefully that changes. Missoula MT?
Bright. Missoula appears to be growing and attracting those who want a slower pace of life and outdoor activities. The city recently open a brand new hotel and has other projects going on downtown. One of my colleagues lived in Montana, and she loved it!

I don't know much about Scranton but I'm gonna have to say bright because of the New York exodus going on.
Little Rock, AR
Bright.
It is a state capitol and the economic and cultural center of its state. And if the recent census estimates have any credibility, Arkansas is growing faster this decade than the last one.

Bright. Spillover from the Bay Area is already taking place, and as the coastal parts of NorCal become more expensive, this trend will continue, bringing the city more higher-income residents and the tax revenue that follows. The potential for improved rail links into the Bay Area could further accelerate this trend.

I hope bright. Regressive policies on the local and state level can really hurt progress. There will have to be a real push on education, STEM and other jobs that would move the area forward.

The Villages, Florida?
I don't see the Boomer retirement wave slowing down anytime soon. This place has branded itself as a household name whether you love it or hate it. Bright.
Bright. Migration from NYC, Boston alongside with a trending downtown and lots of job opportunities is making this Portland a recommended city
Jacksonville, Florida
