There are so many threads discussing which major city has the best/second best/third best skyline, and let's face it, small cities just can't compete with the Chicagos and San Franciscos of the world. Let's see some of the best small city skylines (from cities with metros with less than 500,000 people). Post pictures along with what city it is as well as the metro population.

I'll start:

Corpus Christi, TX (414,376)

from eight miles north of downtown:

Little Rock, AR

Great idea for a thread. The smaller cities get so overlooked on this forum. Not everybody can or wants to live in New York or Seattle.

Atlanta. Population 487,000. Possibly Miami, population 380,000.

Billiam - I thought about posting Shreveport but decided to leave that to someone else...I've always been impressed by its skyline. Its metro population is 387,583

bchris02 - Little Rock's metro population is 666,401, slightly more than 500,000. Still...great to see the pictures! I've always liked looking at skylines of other cities

OgleCo - Atlanta's and Miami's metros are definitely well above the 500,000 mark, even though their central city population is less.

Oh, yes, I am sorry Awecelot, I didn't read the part about metro.

Yes, I for sure know that Atlanta and Miami's metropolitan population is much above 5,000,000, even though the cities themselves are less than 500K.

Yeah, more appropriate for this thread would be metro populations under 1 million. The 500k-1 million group gets overlooked quite a bit as well.

Hmm, well in that case, I think I would pick Birmingham, Alabama, Salt Lake City, Utah, Des Moines, Iowa, a very impressive skyline for less than 200K (city, 600K metro.)
