Lol. Stop it. This doesn’t even warrant a response.

What puts San Francisco proper ahead of Washington DC in relevance or importance to the nation? Why is it not a top 5 news media hub in the nation? Stop with the silliness.

What are the city proper Federal Income Tax Liabilities? DC pays out way more taxes than it receives. You’re referring to other cities when you say the hand that feeds you (DC) and we don’t even have congressional representation. If anything, we are feeding you because you’re taking our tax dollars without giving us any representation in Congress.

Another CSA comparison. That’s great. Now what goes on in the city proper of San Francisco to elevate it above Chicago or Washington DC?

As a metro it’s fine, but I compare from the inside and work my way out. Seems like the Bay Area can only compare the opposite way. That’s something neither DC nor Chicago have to do, because what takes place within their actual cities is of the upmost relevance.

I pretty much agree with this, although, I personally would put Boston in Tier 2 (and get rid of Tier 3). Then the new Tier 3 would include the combined Tier 4A and 4B (i.e. I think Seattle is as the same level as the other cities in the current 4A).

Nope. San Francisco has the nation's 4th largest Metro Area GDP, even though it ranks 13th in population.

2020 GDP
San Francisco MSA $588B
Washington MSA $561B
Dallas MSA $534B
Houston MSA $488B

Go ask San Franciscans Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi, #2 and #3 most important people in your city.

Pelosi is from Baltimore.

This also substantiates the point, SF made them popular figures, Washington is where they became relevant nationally, or globally.
