Is the rush hour traffic to Albany bad? Would Ballston Spa be a good, cheaper alternative?

Ballston Spa and Glens Falls would likely more affordable, unless you look on the West Side of SS, which historically is more affordable and diverse. Both are minutes away from the city too.
Ballston Spa is the county seat of government in Saratoga County and is a nice, walkable village.
Glens Falls is a part of its own metro area(Warren and Washington Counties).
I believe traffic can be a pain going into Albany, but there are also Global Foundries in Malta near Ballston Spa/Saratoga Springs and some in Schenectady, which isn’t too far away either. Around Troy/Rensselaer/East Greenbush, Regeneron has a big facility there, among other companies.
There are other places in NY that could work, but I think you can find what you are looking for in that area.
