Comparing 100k across the board to cities with large city limits to small dense/urban cities isn't equal.

100k in Houston isn’t distributed evenly with 100k in Baltimore Baltimore.

I remember the census use to have homicides per census tract however they haven’t updated it since 2015.
The denser city is always going to come up with the short end of the stick as everything geographically compressed anyway you slice it.

As an earlier post stated, its better at the neighborhood level since majority of it happen in a small grouping and not evenly disperse.

Memphis has a rate that's gonna be over 50/100k ... in an area that is nearly 300 square miles?? Whoa.

I can't imagine any other "city" will be close to that rate over the same area.

Sacramento went from 44 in '20, to 58 in '21, to 54 in '22, to sitting at 29 with less than 2 months left in the year...

Norfolk had 49 in '20, 62 in '21, 63 in '22, and is at 29 with less than 2 months left in this year...

Precipitous declines in both and they deserve to be applauded...

That was a *real* genius move there, considering that the USA has a standing extradition treaty with Kenya:
