Notice the absence of Saint Louis and Baltimore. They aren't in the top 50.
It's great that STL and Bmore aren't top 50, but unfortunately most lists of "cities with highest homicide rates" that people see have a population cutoff as to only include major cities. I still hear people calling Philly the "murder capital" because it's had the highest rate of the 10 biggest cities... when by no metrics is it the murder capital of anything.
Sad to see DCs year from hell continue. DC has now tied 2002s total of 264 homicides. That basically guarantees DC will now have its deadliest year since 1997.

Birmingham at 143 homicides with 132 murders for a rate of 66.66. 66 on the west precinct of 80k
West precinct Bham rate 82.5
North patrol St Louis 74 murders pop 78k rate 94.87
Ward 8 SE DC 95 murders pop 85k rate 111.76
Interested in New Orleans by ward.
These might be the most concentrated areas for homicides.
