Boston still at 10 (+5 from 2022).

However, Boston+Cambridge+Somerville+Everett+Brookline+Chel sea+Winthrop+Newton+Quincy+Milton+Watertown+Medfro d
1.4 million people and 11 murders in the Boston 'Core'. Not too bad, up +3 from last year.

However, the Boston MSA has well over 25 murders this year with 7 murder suicide, murders. Notable increase.

Pittsburgh is now up to 16.

On Friday two people were gunned down near a nightclub in our troubled Homewood neighborhood. Apparently the deceased female was an innocent bystander.

Yesterday a male was gunned down while riding his bicycle in our usually quiet Bloomfield neighborhood after some sort of argument with another male who was not on a bicycle. There's a lot of anti-cyclist/anti-bike lane rhetoric here, so I would not be surprised if this is yet another mentally-ill "law-abiding gun owner" who was "standing his ground" against the meanie cyclists.

Portland is the most striking example of pre vs. post-pandemic difference

That's 13 so far. Last year, Hampton reached this total by early May, after they had a bad spike similar to January this year with 6 murders in the month of April alone.

Also a domestic dispute ends with a 23 y/o woman dead in downtown Suffolk yesterday, but the suspect is being charged with voluntary manslaughter as of now; still marks homicide #2.

So far, surprisingly the only city in HR I can say is making a significant improvement is Norfolk; which is down 100% from last year (5 vs 15). Every other city in HR aside from Chesapeake is up substantially, which is a shame...Richmond also is up substantially after a rash of murders this month, shot up to 17 to tie Portsmouth as the state leader. Up 51%.

Oviously the raw differences are so minimal that they might not even matter later in the year, but still worth noting.

VB is up 66% (8 vs 4)

Suffolk is up 200% (2 vs 0)

Newport News is up 111% (7 vs 2)

Hampton is up 73% (13 vs 6)

Chesapeake is down 22% (4 vs 5)

Portsmouth is up 95% (17 vs 9)

Another notable mention which is an odd one, Charlottesville. I don't know what's going on over there, but having 5 already grants them the second highest rate in the state behind Portsmouth. It's like this small college town just traded places with Petersburg all of a sudden.
Your murder totals may be right, but the percentage changes are nearly all stated incorrectly. 8 vs. 4 is an increase of 100%, 2 vs. 0 is up indefinably, etc.

Yeah I was in a rush, threw it together in 3 mins and realized it was butchered days later. Don't mind it.
