It would be easier to compare neighborhoods/districts of Atlanta to Seattle or even LA, than New York. Really the only think "New York" about Atlanta is a lot of New York transplants and the fact that it's on the East Coast (but even then, Southeast and Northeast are completely different regions culturally).

But if I had to pick some I guess as others mentioned L5P to Greenwich Village, Midtown and Midtown, Downtown to Lower Manhattan/FiDi, Buckhead to Upper East Side, SW Atlanta to the Bronx, and can't really think of a match to Brooklyn and Queens, perhaps somewhere on the Eastside.

Atlanta does have a Wall Street in its downtown. Like the one in NYC, it's west end begins at the city's most famous street (Peachtree/Broadway). Here is one block east of Peachtree, which would be equivalent to the same intersection in Manhattan where the NYSE sits:

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.7532...7i16384!8i8192

But I don't think the one in NYC's FiDi ever had a surface lot. Instead of Trinity Church, you've got a struggling strip mall-like building, and the SW corner, equivalent to where the NYSE would sit in NYC has an entrance to the neglected Underground Atlanta. The NE corner (equivalent to Federal Hall) has a vacant-run down office building, too. That said, I find this section of downtown to really need a makeover, given that this is just one block from Peachtree, and any similarities with NYC's Wall Street are uncanny at best. Just to the north of this shot is a more vibrant area with better street level density as you enter the Five Points district, but its still more comparable to a downtown Brooklyn or Jersey City in terms of overall activity, and even then, it has a more 9-5 feel with fewer residential buildings.

Midtown Atlanta is nicer, but more comparable with downtown Long Island City or Stamford than Midtown Manhattan.

Ssshhhhh you must not question Atlanta's urbanity.
What you think is real isn't really real.
Never trust your own eyes
Reality is Atlanta has cohesive block after block of development. IN ALL DIRECTIONS!
Reality is Atlanta is the New New York

Not question Atlanta's urbanity, just that it's more urban than Houston.

They’re in the same category ESPECIALLY in comparison to New York. That is all I’ll say about this since Atlanta vs Houston is not the thread here.

Back to the point of this thread. It’s really hard to compare Atlanta neighborhoods to the ones in New York since the nature the cities are built in are so different. I think to make the comparison happen people need to look less at the built environment of the neighborhoods and more at how the neighborhoods function/the role they play to their city.

For example, I have heard people say that the West End is the Harlem of Atlanta. I have also heard the same said about Auburn Ave. Or that Buckhead is the Fifth Avenue of Atlanta. I would imagine L5P or EAV may be the Greenwich Village of Atlanta.

I assume surrounding boroughs would more closely relate to the inner suburbs (i.e. College Park, East Point, Decatur, Tucker, Marietta, etc.), but I'm not sure.

But what about Inman Park, Old Fourth Ward, Grant Park, Summerhill, Virginia Highland, or the westside neighborhoods?

What are your thoughts?
You will need to go all the way out to parts of Brooklyn for , similar comparison. Like Grant Park could be similar to Borough park in brooKlyn. Same kinda housing stock

Yeah, only similarities I can think of would be in select parts of Brooklyn.
Peachtree Downtown KIND of gives me Brooklyn vibes whenever I am there:

Kind of.

Atlanta is just... Atlanta though. I can recognize Atlanta in pretty much any video I see of it. There aren't really any places that look like it.

Yeah Downtown Brooklyn and Even Downtown Brooklyn is more bustling. Atlanta is Atlanta and needs to stay that way.
