I told you I was old I am old enough that Laclede’s Landing was still the hot place and MPO’Reillys on Maryland was a go-to (and I know that’s long gone).
Lol! Lacledes Landing will come back as a residential neighborhood not a bar club district. I remember the days of Mississippi Nights, and The Dub Club was wild I heard. Magnolias and The Complex where my spots. Time brings about a change.

Last time I was in St. Louis. Me and my friend from Chicago went down to Cherokee St. and it was packed. I was honestly shocked how vibrant Cherokee St. was. If we ever get light rail down Jefferson, Cherokee St. would be a real tourist destination.

I've heard about Cherokee. Was impressed with late evening foot traffic in the area last month when I was there. I think north south MetroLink will probably happen giving South city lrt access to Chippewa.
No one has mentioned the east side in STL yet? Bars close at 6AM. Granted, the drinking is only secondary as to why people go to the east side.
By "the east side" I assume you mean East St. Louis, Ill., the nation's largest incorporated slum.
Illinois is one of the four US states with no state-set closing time, so I guess St. Clair County opted to allow the bars in East St. Louis to stay open until dawn the next morning.
How many casinos are on that side of the river? Or is it something else that draws them over the river?
I went to KC about 1.5 years ago, and the nightlife seemed non existent. It seems everything closed early. Even some of the famous BBQ spots like Gates closes at 9pm. Anyways I only stayed one weekend. I was around Main and 18th St is what I can remember. But I drove around to Downtown, and the River Market area. Did I not go to the right places or was it a bad week? There was a Nascar event as the Hotel I was staying in was filled up.

Duh, I should have figured that out just by looking at the urbanscape (or rather, industrialscape) of Sauguet.
Well, it does count as nightlife. But I suspect that wasn't the first thing people were thinking of when they posted on this thread.
NJ_Brazen3133: The Q joints don't stay open late, but the bars do. You'll find the largest concentrations of those in Westport and the Power & Light District (the latter downtown), plus a smattering in the Crossroads Arts District just to downtown's south. Westport's central intersection (Westport Road and Pennsylvania Avenue) is closed to cars from 10 pm Friday and Saturday to 4 am Saturday and Sunday; only pedestrians are allowed within the barricades.
