Chicago, if the cost-of-living isn’t an issue. It would be the most similar culturally to where you are now and it’s traditionally been a destination for grads of the Big Ten and other Midwestern schools.

Miami/Ft. Lauderdale seems like the clear answer here. Outside of the cities listed, West Hollywood?
Every city has a gay district. Not quite as extravagant as SB but bottom line is Miami votes more conservative than Austin, Chicago and atlanta

If you want to party and be part of a well known scene, then yes. If you want to start families and send your kids to schools where they'll be treated respectfully then I would think twice about it.

Come down under and settle in Newtown, a gay village in Sydney Australia.

Agree with others that say avoid Texas and Florida. Among your remaining options, you may want to consider other factors like the job market in your profession, and general urban planning.

You should go where you have better job opportunities, decent real estate, good schools, not where the "scene" is hopping. It is the year 2023, most suburban areas could care less what your sexual orientation is. As long as you are a good decent human being.

That’s a good point, and for that matter Republican doesn’t necessarily mean conservative. Miami has a lot of new Republican voters, but it’s not like they’re opening Southern Baptist churches on every corner.
