1. New York (Manhattan)
2. Honolulu
3. San Francisco
4. New York (Brooklyn)
5. Orange County CA
6. Los Angeles (Long Beach)
7. Washington DC
8. Boston
9. Seattle
10. San Diego
11. Arlington VA
12. Oakland
13. New York (Queens)
14. Bethesda-Gaithersburg-Frederick MD
15. Nassau County NY

I wasn't surprised by the list but wondering why Los Angeles and Orange County or Washington DC and Bethesda-Gaithersburg-Frederick were separated? Same with the boroughs of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens.

I dunno how Honolulu is not #1---we were there last month, a gallon of milk was $9, a dozen eggs also $10, and so on...

In the case of DC, those are technically separate Metro Divisions that make up a greater metropolitan area.

Even locally at times DC, Arlington/NOVA, and Bethesda-Gaithersburg-Frederick are some times considered by some separate housing "markets" within a greater metro region, much like you're seeing with OC and LA separation, or the multiple boroughs of NYC separated from Nassau County.

Chicago is not that expensive. It’s a great bargain. It’s similar COL to places like Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta but has an urban experience that’s basically 2nd to only New York.
