Of the places you list, River Hills is in its own category; as far as suburbs go, it's the premier elite community of the Milwaukee metro. Other nearby places at that level include Chenequa and a couple of other places in Lake Country.

For me, the next level (income, education, etc.) includes Mequon, Brookfield, Elm Grove, Bayside, Whitefish Bay, Fox Point, and Shorewood (though not necessarily in the order listed).

Wauwatosa, New Berlin, Glendale, Muskego, and Greendale come next. Then, Germantown, Meno Falls, Greenfield, Oak Creek, Franklin, Brown Deer, Hales Corners. Then, South Milwaukee, Cudahy, West Allis, West Milwaukee.

But a lot depends on neighborhoods. The North Shore is very prosperous and prestigious, but the zones closer to Lake Michigan are a different world from the zones inland.

Some neighborhoods are particularly well-heeled. The following are among the top 1000 affluent suburban neighborhoods in the United States:

north and central River Hills
South-east lakeshore Mequon
lakeshore Fox Point
lakeshore Whitefish Bay (south of Silver Spring)
lakeshore Shorewood
the Highlands neighborhood in Wauwatosa

There are a few others, but these examples point out how some affluent communities in the Mke area are themselves significantly divided. Parts of Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, and Fox Point have more in common with middle-class Glendale than with the neighborhoods closest to the lake. Western Mequon is more like Germantown than SE Mequon. The Tosa Highlands area is a bubble adjacent to middle-class and working-class neighborhoods.
