I thought about including this in the Demographics Thread which I maintain but in the end, I decided it deserved its own thread since were expecting updated numbers from data.census.gov soon.
Just to re-cover what these numbers are, they represent the number of people that reside in each of the metro areas that obtained permanent residency from the country in question. Unlike the data.census.gov numbers, these do not have a margin of error. They are 100% accurate.
I will list the total number of immigrants that had more than 500 immigrate from a particular country as well as the total number of immigrants to each metro area.
Data below!
Total Number of Immigrants to Each Metro Area - 1,018,349 to US in Total (all over 5K listed)
New York City: 148,599
Los Angeles: 63,584
Miami/Fort Lauderdale: 62,475
Washington DC: 39,450
Houston: 38,186
San Francisco: 35,369
Dallas/Fort Worth: 35,330
Chicago: 31,564
Seattle/Tacoma: 26,452
Boston: 26,370
San Jose: 23,062
Atlanta: 21,044
Philadelphia: 20,234
Orlando: 17,257
Riverside/San Bernardino: 13,980
San Diego: 13,314
Phoenix: 12,396
Tampa: 12,271
Detroit: 11,980
Austin: 10,907
Charlotte: 9,500
Sacramento: 9,298
Minneapolis/St. Paul: 8,203
Baltimore: 7,925
Denver: 7,716
Las Vegas: 7,101
Portland, OR: 6,756
San Antonio: 6,388
Columbus, OH: 6,240
Nashville: 5,874
Cincinnati: 5,723
Raleigh: 5,509
I was torn on whether to use 1,000 or 500 as the cut off so I used 500 because it was more encompassing. Below is how many countries each metro area had above 1,000:
New York City: 33
Miami/Fort Lauderdale: 14
Los Angeles: 10
Houston: 10
Washington DC: 9
Dallas/Fort Worth: 6
San Francisco: 5
Seattle/Tacoma: 5
Boston: 5
Chicago: 5

Well done as usual. They wouldn't let me rep you again. It's pretty clear at this point what the 5 major immigration hubs to this country are, but interesting to see second and middle tiers immigration trends.
A by continent break down might also be useful here if you ever have the time.

What would those be exactly?
Rather confused how you can draw the line at Houston where there really isn’t a drop off, there is 3 clear hubs and then a bunch of 4 that are clumped up together at very similar rates
While they aren't "immigrants," I'd be interested to also see figures including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. I know Orlando and NYC in particular are Puerto Rican hotbeds.

Why is that of interest?
