Although San Diego claims to be the finest city in the U.S., however, between it and Seattle which city do you consider to be the finest in the country?

How? Both are great cities and unfortunately I don't live in either. The only factor that discourages me from living in either locale are earthquakes. Besides, the compairison is between these two cities only.

It's the nature of the question, it's loaded. You didn't ask which of these two cities is preferable, you asked which of these two cities is America's finest as though only these two cities can be considered.

I agree with all of the above: it's the wrong question because it's exclusionary for a universe of cities that are "better" to many people than the two stated. ERGO, those two can't be the "finest".
