Your right. The destroyed and dilapidated neighborhoods of the South Bronx and Bed Stuy are so much more destroyed and dilapidated than anywhere in LA.

I agree...have you guys checked out downtown lately? It's amazing....They're reconstructing slowly but I feel like in the next 10 years, it will be just as good, if not better then NYC. aqnd crime rates have been going down too fyi

In just about every aspect of a city, New York City handily beats Los Angeles.

That includes vibrancy, nightlife, public transit, density, downtown, walkability, gdp, historic sites, architecture, restaurants, population, fashion, media, and on and on.

Anyone who visits both of these cities will clearly notice the difference.

What about weather, more bang for your buck, infrastructure, the total number of museums, modern, less A-holes per capita, better sports arena, diverse geography, movie and tv capital (unless u spend most of ur time on ur smartphone or computer, then it would be silicon valley possibly).

Weather: Yes. But it's personal preference, I like four distinct seasons.
More bang for your buck: In other words, your real estate is worth less per sq ft.
Infrastructure: well yes your highways are great but that also creates smog.
Total # of museums: quality over quantity: MET/MoMA/Guggenheim > anything in LA. The best museums in the world – Lonely Planet community blog
Modern: Debateable. There are plenty of parts of New York that are very modern.
Less A-holes per capita: Such lies. You're thinking just Midtown Manhattan. The sheer number of people in NYC alone would disqualify this statement.
Better Sports Arena: Fair enough.
Diverse Geography: This is true.
Move & TV Capital: While LA has Hollywood, half the movies today take place in New York. And on top of that a bunch of media corporations are headquartered in NY - CBS, NBC, ABC. etc. But of course, LA has an edge over NY in this.

There is a reason New York is the flagship city of the U.S. and the #1 destination for foreign tourists in the U.S.

Yes and East L.A. is so glitzy and glamarous. Compton, just a little bit to the southeast of downtown LA is definitely safe as well.
On top of that, L.A. has it's own article on wikipedia listing the criminal gangs there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...es,_California And it's also been nicknamed the Gang Capital of America.

I didn't say they weren't safe. But obviously you have never been to Compton or LA. It is a newer suburb. The streets are wide and well paved. The sidewalks are well maintained. Most of the homes are single family or low rise apartments. It is just newer. It doesn't look dilapidated. That was my point. Not the crime rate.

Four distinct seasons are overrated: summer is sauna; Shoveling snow most the winter; rain & gloomy skies during spring and fall.

Nyc has some of the worse smog in the country

As far as A-holes, I'm talking about the part of nyc where they think that nyc has the biggest, first, best, and most of everything. Only people in midtown think that?

Nyc is more historic and more modern?

Most of the movies based in ny, that were filmed in nyc, were partially filmed in LA.

I'm from Baltimore BTW.

Yes this doesn't look dilapidated at all.

You get the point....
I'm not at all saying Bedstuy/South Bx are not. But LA has parts that are equally rundown.

I like 4 seasons. It's a personal preference. Therefore I don't like the weather in LA. And it really doesn't rain that much in NY.

NYC may be bad smog wise but my point is LA is much worse since everyone drives.

In terms of the a-hole thing - Well yes of course, it's one of the most important/influential cities in the world. Any city like that has snooty inhabitants, including LA, Paris, London etc.

And yes - Most of Manhattan might be historic. But new buildings/condos are being built all over the place - Hell's Kitchen, Financial District (after 9/11), Chelsea, etc. And parts of Brooklyn are now increasingly modern. Lots of new condos being built along the shore. As well as Long Island City which is seeing lots of new developments. (And Jersey City/Hoboken if we're talking about the metro area)

I didn't deny that LA is the film/tv capital. I'm just saying NYC has as strong influence as well.

And yes I saw that but why does that matter?
