haha, this will be interesting.

Houston seems a like a better place to work. San Diego a better place to play. Houston has more big city amenities than San Diego and more opportunities since it's has a very reasonable cost of living and good economy. But since I work to live I prefer SD for the climate, laid back atmosphere, beaches, scenery, and location but it ain't cheap.

let's see... San Diego's easier to get around, better weather, lower crime, lower obesity problem, better beaches, better scenery, better downtown/nightlife, better clubs, better zoning, better topography, less sprawl, better football team, closer to other metros (entertaining ones at that), better outdoor activities, better looking people, more educated people, better architecture, better Mexican food, mountain and desert regions in east county, no bugs, less traffic, better theme parks, better casinos (I don't gamble, just saying), better resorts, better emergency evacuation policies, better parks and golf courses, better museums, better looking palm trees, better shopping experience, better suburbs, and San Diegans hate Bush

Can we all just notice that it's not the Houstonians who are making these threads.

For leisure/retirement? San Diego. For work/raising a family? Houston.

Agree with that. Vacation, leisure, retirement--San Diego. Business, work, family--Houston. Though it's not like you can some of the other in either city.

raise a family in Houston? I can see because of the cost of loving but other then that, San Diego is the place to raise a family. Of you're wealthy, then raising a family in San Diego is far superior to raising one in Houston. San Diego has gorgeous weather, beaches, legoland, seaworld, world class zoo and wild animal park, and much more...

Jealous of L.A. again? They are the alpha world city with all the cultural, artistic, etc. variety and San Diego's inferiority complex is shining through again since it's next to L.A. and knows what it's missing out on. Kind of like Canada and the gorilla that's the United States. Is this why you try to pick fights with burgeoning cities like Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta with your coastal elitism against flyover country?

You are correct, SD always will have an inferiority complex towards LA. SD is not horrible, but there is nothing there that would want me to ever live there again. I like my cities world class, not sleepy border towns!
