LMAO. I don't really have any strong feelings about it one way or another (except that Texas IS most definitely part of the South!), but I gotta say, I got a good chuckle out of the way you worded your post, my friend.

Kinda reminds me of a thread I once came across in another forum where somebody replied to a topic which had actually ended about two years earlier! (truly! LOL). Anyway, another person wrote back to the effect of: "If you notice the dates, the topic you are posting to is now defunct. Most of those who originally contributed are now either dead or incarcerated"

It was one of those times that, in reading a post, I literally cracked up laughing out loud! And a bit jealous..wishing I had come up with the phrase!

Anyway, good one, WestH.

Whoops on New Mexico; guess I had a brain fart there, LOL. Thanks for mentioning the others.

I would not consider Texas as part of the equation. Atlanta would be the 8th largest city if it was in Texas.

I would have to go with New Orleans being it capital and most cultural, Atlanta is the NYC of the South and Miami it largest fun and fashion city, Tampa St Pete along with Memphis, Nashville(the Boston of the South), Birmingham, Jacksonville and Orlando bringing up the rear. Charlotte would be its financial center and Raleigh its geek center. We can't forget about Louisville, Mobile, Baton Rouge,Jackson and the Asheville Knoxville areas

There is no capitol of the south, and Texas should not be included in this poll.
