Um.. let me think... have I heard of Worth Avenue? Uh, do you really want me to answer that question? Worth Avenue is absolutely beautiful but regardless of which street is longer, Buckhead has the highest concentration of upscale stores in this county. The NCAA indirectly capitalized on this fact a few years ago while in Atlanta (I know, how funny is that?). Then beyond Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza is an extremely diverse array of shopping, both upscale and bargin. This is why I said that said that the shopping is better. I won't even bring up the Streets of Buckhead. When I actually take the time to comment on these debates, I'm pulling from both personal experience and factual information. The whole time I was in Miami, I never once heard of anyone refer to Palm Beach as the "Beverly Hills of the South." If you just take the time to google that quote, Buckhead is the word you'll find in nearly all of the links. Another supporter of Palm Beach talked about the amount of "old money" down there. Yes, this may be the case BUT both Buckhead, North Fulton County, East Cobb and the western edge of Gwinnett County are booming affluent areas. By booming I mean they easily surpass the $100,000 per year barrier in terms of household income AND they keep on growing. As a matter of fact, last time I checked-- according to a study done in 2005, West Buckhead (30327) is sole zip code in the American Southeast to rank among the 50 wealthiest zip codes in the nation. Wait, make that in the American South period. Forbes Magazine backed up this claim when they released the 10 most affluent zip codes in the nation. Once again, only one southern zip code made the list and I don't even have to tell you which one. Have you even taken the time to drive West Paces Ferry, Tuxedo, Habersham, Northside, Mount Paran, or really any of the roads in that region? Yes, the biggest estates I've personally seen in Palm Beach are bigger than the biggest estates that I've seen in Buckhead, I give you that. When you're in Buckhead, you can run right out of Buckhead into Sandy Springs and not even know it. Thats the kind of wealth in that region. It just keeps going and going and going. I'll even give a nod in your favor and say that Palm Beach looks more like Southern California in terms of vegetation than does the Piedmont. Like i've said before, Atlanta is the most hated city in America. We all ban together to defend the South from the Northeast but Jesus when that war is over! We just retool and fight amongst each other. I could sit here and spit facts all day and ask for proofs of these retarded claims that people on here make like "young professionals can afford to live in Buckhead but not Palm Beach" when it is a fact that Buckhead has a higher average income than Palm Beach, but in the end it doesn't matter because its Atlanta and for that reason, it gets no credit. Point blank.
Oh, and to the smart aleck that asked if I've ever been to Florida. You ever heard of Tallahassee? Born and raised. To you, maybe thats the real reason why I'm in favor of Buckhead.

Actually Buckhead is a business/retail/restaurant/entertainment district with million dollar condos surrounded by mansions and estates. Of course, there are regular homes in Buckhead too but they don't have regular prices.
I'm not sure exactly what you meant by "more like a business district instead of a town". Buckhead is one section of the city of Atlanta - not an incorporated city/town.
I'm really surprised at the number of votes for Buckhead. It makes me think that they have 1 never been to Buckhead or 2 never been to Beverly Hills. Palm Beach & Highland Park should be the clear winners of this poll.

People vote to what they can relate to, in Buckhead you don't get looked down upon, Beverly Hills seems like it is full of Paris Hilton types who think their money can solve all of their problems you don't get that in Buckhead and I have no impression of Palm Beach except that maybe it's a retirement town like most of Florida.

Look at those numbers every single place listed under FL is in Palm Beach County.
Oh but if you search by County figures it goes dramatically lower because west Palm Beach County (Royal Palms) on the west side of the turnpike is very poor area. Thats the Western part of Palm Beach County not to be confused with West Palm Beach.

During the winter months Palm Beach has the highest concentration of wealth in the World. Mainly due to all the millionaires from around the US and world who have winter homes there on top of all the permanate millionaires who live there.

West Palm Beach it's self IS poor, and it has one of the HIGHEST crime rates in the nation. I think you meant to say Palm Beach, is not to be confused with West Palm Beach. These are two different cities right across the water from each other.
Not all of Florida is a retirement state lol. West Palm Beach does have some poor areas but it has some very nice areas too, just like every other city in the US.
