Most bigger cities are congested, but New York and LA are at the top. Which city is more congested in your opinion?

People probably get more cold/flu symptoms in NYC in the winter, BUT allergies from all the desert foliage could be big for LA. Tough call!

I think NYC has more traffic congestion. LA is talked about more, but it seems that really bad traffic is only on the highways. In NYC, it seens that the traffic is EVERYWHERE (well everywhere in Manhattan). I've seen streets with bumpe to bumper traffic and highways with bumper to bumper traffic. Plus, during regular hours, traffic still doesn't move very fast in NYC.

If you're talking about being sick, I'd still say NYC. Since everybody's so close to everybody and the city is known for being very dirty. So is LA but there's less contact in LA, so everybody's doesn't get sick.
I was referring to traffic congestion.

Traffic congestion on the highways LA. In general (and moreso in Manhattan) NYC. And I've lived in LA and I am from NY state and have visited NYC a million times..

LA is bumper to bumper traffic on the freeways. And NYC is bumper to bumper traffic in Manhattan. Some of the boroughs are awful as well. Especially the Bronx and Queens. Queens mainly because the subway system only has a few stops in Queens. So the dependence on cars is more prevalent.

Most things in LA are way too spread out to have the kind of traffic congestion that NYC does.

Chicago has ranked above both in the recent past for traffic congestion. They are supposedly less bothered by it in polls. Chicago can be extremely irritating to navigate by car, um, hence the el

Silly comparison as New York is way more dense.

Pedestrian congestion in NYC though, that can't be beat!
