Not sure if there are actual statistics on this, but which (U.S.) cities by reputation or your own personal experience feel it's pretty divided between rich and poor?

I know Los Angeles is pretty economically disparate with levels comparable to some Latin American cities. Also, with increased illegal immigration the middle class that remains (IE the Valley) is rapidly depleting.

Other cities that come to mind are Miami and New York.

What else?

New York City pops into my mind first.

There's billionaires here & people who get less than $5,000 a year.

The Bay Area is a good example too Just look at Oakland or SF, with ghettos that are among the worst of them mere miles from multi-million dollar homes ($65 million homes in SF's case).

Observe:

those housing projects in SF are less than one mile (9 blocks) from these houses in Pacific Heights:

That's the neighborhood with the aforementioned $65 million home...i think it might have been chopped down to $55 million by now though..it's a fixer-upper too.

Haha oh god, that's so San Francisco. Even those "ghetto" houses look amazing to me.

about 5 houses down from that $65M house is another currently selling for I think $48 Million-its actually nicer to me cause its older, its a corner lot and it has a beautiful design.

And this part of Broadway in SF is known as Billionaire's Row btw. As Rah states, a few blocks away is the Fillmore, a working class neighborhood.

Memphis. It's like a 3rd World city: a few fabulously wealthy neighborhoods, some ok middle-class neighborhoods, and a whole bunch of scuzzy poor neighborhoods. Memphis traditionally has the highest unemployment rate in Tennessee, and it has half of the entire state's welfare recipients. It also has half of the entire state's failing schools yet also has some of the state's best private schools.

Atlanta, there are some of, if not the wealthiest black communities in the country in Atlanta, then there are also some of, if not the poorest black areas in the country in Atlanta.
