Seattle's weather is much more varied than San Diego. Yes there are plentiful clouds and rainy days, but for "much of the year" is a bit of an exaggeration.
What's interesting is it's actually the areas around Seattle that rain constantly; but the city itself doesn't rain as much as people think.
San Diego's nice, and I like the weather in both. Though SD's June gloom would get to me though, but I can deal with no-sun/no-fun Januarys in Seattle. I like Seattle's culture better, but I like that San Diego is a bit more friendly. It's a tough choice for me. I didn't get to vote, and I'm not sure which I would have voted for!
Seattle. Better air quality, seafood, and sports. Seattle might miss the Supersonics but the England like weather is fitting for the Sounders (that's the new Soccer team BTW).

Actually, the MLS team might be new, but the Seattle Sounders was a USL team from 1994-2008. Also, there was a team of the same name in the NASL (North American Soccer League), which played from 1974-1983. My parents took me to some of their games at the Kingdome when I was little.

One ting about the air quality,Seattldoes get alot of rain which really help with it's air,but SD isn't bad it's really nice with the constant breeze runnin.
Seattle has more culture and a more international feel. I like that personally. Also the food is fabulous. A lot of San Diego was built during the tourist boom. Everywhere you go you recognize as someplace you've been before. I am sure people who live there see parts that visitors don't.
I do like the beaches in San Diego. Having grown up in LA and spent many hours enjoying the beach life, I found it difficult to realize that the water in Seattle is way to cold even to dip a toe, no matter how beautiful it is.

I loved Seattle from my visit. Probably my most favorite City of them all in America. So much culture and love the vibe. But the weather oh... its not the rain that is bothersome. I guess its because its too overcast for too long.
San Diego. Wet overcast cold is the worst kind of cold. 30 degrees with low humidity and no wind and plenty of sun is way better than 45 and overcast with high humidity and windy. Not that SD gets that cold, but Seattle's wet cold makes SD an easy call for me. I'd much prefer the weather sitting in the stands at a Chargers game than at a Seahawks game.
