Okay i want to get this out there: Which city, Boulder or Longmont, Colorado, is the 'better' city. Both are fairly equal in both size and population. Skylines are NOT relevant to this debate.
So the debate is this--Which city is better when the following factors are considered: Economical, Social, Educational, Political, Median Income/Poverty Level, Traffic, Business/Industry Opportunities, Location/Accessibility.
Considering all of those factors, Longmont probably wins. However, Boulder's setting against the Flatirons and the downtown area are far superior to Longmont's. Ultimately, they're only separated by a few miles of highway, so it would be pretty easy to enjoy the benefits of Boulder without being constantly subject to its excessive cost of living and polarizing politics.
