^He won't respond. He does what I call "drive by" posts. They are usually very cryptic, often outlandish - but he never responds to anyone.

Houston, Dallas/FW. San Antonio/Austin and El Paso are major cities. Not too many states have this kind of one two punch. If these cities were in NC it would be a monster state or the Southeast

Ok. And Texas is a huge state with some very large cities? Your Point (see last sentence in this post)?

To humor your transplant theory though, NC already has double the population density of Texas (being it has a large population with a much smaller area) from the last census. I don't think we would have room You can drive through the five largest cities within 188 miles start to finish in NC (250 miles and you hit the top 6) . Pretty compact here in the Piedmont area. Not sure if that is a good thing or not...

Now if you put them on the coast or the mountains, yeah we got room there! Well maybe for just a couple. Can we pick as I'm sure many of us have reservations about taking all your cities?

And wtf does this have to do with this thread? I thought this was Ft. Worth not the entire state? That is about as strange as me combining Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Maryland, and Georgia with all their major cities as a comparison...

^^^ I agree. If Texas cities were in NC, NC would be the most densely populated state in the US.

Fort Worth being so close to Dallas makes it a very tempting choice. However, Dallas doesn't seem that intriguing to me. But, maybe when I go there I might be impressed. But I love Charlotte and how it is growing and sprouting in to such a beautiful city. So it has my vote.

Charlotte is a great town but I got go with my home town Fort Worth. Both cities are growing at a pretty good clip right now.

avdavi- I used to live in Charlotte until last year and now reside in Dallas. Ft. Worth downtown reminds my wife of downtown Charlotte, except that Charlotte is taller and newer. I might describe Dallas as what Charlotte might somewhat resemble if Charlotte became much, much larger and more urbanized. FT Worth/Dallas area, like Charlotte and Atlanta have many suburbs, but DFW is Charlotte area multiplied many times.
Btw, Charlotte was a great place to live!

I would probably go with Fort Worth because of it's proximity to Dallas- Charlotte is nice, but a bit boring and secluded for my taste
