Greenville, SC has a good park system that has two of the most urban parks in the Carolina's, and one of them includes a zoo...

Reedy River Park including Liberty Bridge.

But of course its not the best park system in the nation but it has some very wonderful parks, the cities population is only 56k...

Default Milwaukee is by far the best

One problem with the first picture and what I don't like about parks in the city, is the density of people. A park is not a park if it's as crowded as an airport gate where people are standing around waiting to board. Same with the beach. If it's overcrowded, it doesn't count.

One city not on the list is Milwaukee. I think Milwaukee has by far the best park system that I've ever experienced.

I enjoy parks both with and without other people. A park serves a lot of different functions, and some parks are made better by having a large social component to them, so I don't see why a park that's teaming with people has to be discounted.

A park is a park no matter how crowded it is. It definently counts

Definition of park

An area of land set aside for public use

nothing to do with how crowded it is

I'm surprised nobody said National Mall, which to me isn't one of the best, but EVERYONE should know that it's the most important!!! Some of our nation's best events have been held there...

A part of Baltimore's largest park called Druid Hill Park

Caroll Park

Druid hill park is great

"Druid Hill Park in northwest Baltimore, Maryland, ranks with Central Park in New York, begun in 1859, and Fairmount Park in Philadelphia as the oldest landscaped public parks in the United States. Druid Hill Park is a 745-acre (3.01 km2) urban park. The land was originally part of the Druid Hill estate of Nicholas Rogers, and was purchased by the city of Baltimore with the revenue derived from a one-cent park tax on the nickel horsecar fares. Druid Hill Park was inaugurated by Baltimore Mayor Thomas Swann on October 19, 1860. Formerly "Auchentorlie", the estate of George Buchanan, one of the seven commissioners responsible for the establishment of Baltimore City, included 579 of the 745 acres (3.01 km2) that comprise Druid Hill Park today. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places."

Don't forget Patterson Park!

Or Gwynns Falls park too (but thats not landscaped or anything its just a huge forest with some trails in it - very serene and nice though!)
