Yes it was. Almost 10,000 persons per sq. mile. Oh well, we're coming back up.

st. Louis had grown from a small french settlement to a major river port city. between 1821 and 1861

St. Louis was the 4th largest city in the United States. and host of the Worlds Fair.

. Most of the Waterfront is gone except lacedes landing. It took them a long time to figure out what they were going to do with the waterfront.

Nothing really knew being built downtown right now except maybe 1 new condo, but it's not going to dramatically change the skyline at all. St. Louis is well overdo for another big skyscraper in my opinion. The arch has been holding up the skyline for too long now.
