Yeah, they've got to be sheltered. A 400-room hotel isn't a big deal for a city of 400K.

Thats Dallas!!!! The metro is like huge and it is booming!
Compare dallas and raleigh!

Albuquerque is getting a hotel with 750-800 rooms. Somwhere around 25 stories.

Albuquerque is almost putting Dallas to shame haha.

That's too big! A foolish waste of money, just building a freakishly large hotel for the sake of boosting the skyline! Just terrible! [/sarcasm]

Lubbock has a new 15-story, 300-room luxury hotel close to its downtown (about a mile away). From the pictures and accounts of it, I think it's very nice.

I doubt they built the hotel just to boost the skyline...any hotel over 1,000 rooms is freakishly large, but if a city has the convention business to support large hotels then it will be profitable. Atlanta has several...

Hilton - 1,242 rooms
Marriott Marquis - 1,663 rooms
Hyatt Regency - 1,260 rooms
Westin Peachtree Plaza - 1,068 rooms

Actually, the more and more I look at LA, the uglier it looks. It's too dry. I like lake cities.
