Chicago people would claim Chicago has nightlife, because most of you aren't used to good things/world class/true elite cosmopolitan destinations like New York. Chicago nightlife S-U-C-K-S and some of you need to just swallow the fact that Chicago will always be number #3 (actually, #10 or 20, when it comes to any comparison to NYC).
The clubs in New York City are spectacular. HELLO, New York holds the the most iconic/famous club in the world...STUDIO 54. New York has that "scene", Chicago doesn't.
New York also has great celebrity presence, elite gatherings, top clubs....Chicago has 23 year old fratty Big 10 University guys frats with flipped collars who have never left the midwest roaming about up in the clubs thinking they're so cool. Chicago doesn't know anything about nightlife.
-New York has the best clubs.
-New York has the best bars.
-New York has the best restaurants.
-New York has the best high-society nightlife - even has websites which solely keep track and paparazzi/report such events such www.newyorksocialdiary.com

You mad?? I love how every post you make is bashing Chicago...I love haters...Just makes you feel even better that there are people jealous of you're city..you phail...s t f u
You should not post about things you heard about...
Caliber of late night Chicago venues? Like what? Night clubs and bars scene? Miami, LA and most college towns beat Chicago in this respect.
Hey, I believe Hoboken is more lively than Chicago. Chicago shuts down after 10 pm. When you go partying in New York you leave the house around 11PM....
You must be a geek or something that never goes out...lol shuts down after 10?? Ever been to weed st., rush/division..lincoln park bars..the bar scene around ohio..soundbar/ruby/excalibur, wrigleyville, wicker park bars...WOW get out more...make some friends..and yes I actually dont leave the house till 11-1130 most weekends.

Would much prefer Chicago nightlife to the quasi elitist druggie NY nightlife scene. Who in the world wants to go to some club owned by Jay Z populated by a bunch of people who think they are better than everyone else?

^^^ LOL, amen. That's the reason I stay away from Rockit/Underground/Mannequin in Chicago. The good thing is, you can get away from those places out here.
My girlfriend used to live in LA. One day we were out at a bar on Lincoln Ave., and she remarked, "You know, there are no places like this in LA." Apparently, everything out there is very much all "scene." I prefer a place like Guthrie's (with board games) any time.
Strangely, there is a place that has the best of both worlds. I just discovered this two nights ago; it's called the Blue Line, and it's (naturally) right off the Damen Blue Line stop. It's a higher-end wine bar with--get this--board games. Totally anti-scene. Classy, but divey at the same time. Very cool.
YOU should not post about things you heard about. You've never been to Chicago. I am going to correct you really quickly. Chicago's financial district and Loop neighborhoods slow down at 6 PM. They run all night (that is, you'll still find more people on Madison St. in the Loop at 3 AM than in all of your town, White Plains), but they largely clear out after rush hour, around 7 PM. Many of the financial professionals, accountants, and other service industry folks go back to the suburbs. However, those aren't the people who populate the nightlife scenes anyway.
Why do you insist no telling me where I live? I live in Chicago and work in the Loop. The Loop dies after ten, most restaurants close by 10 expect for the weekend when they close an hour or two later. Loop does not run all night, there are people walking home or elswhere but there is no real night life there.
Are you also saying accountants and financial professionals are not the people who populate the nighlife scene? Is the night life scene only for highschool and college kids in this town? That would explain a lot byt the way. C'mon guy, you clearly have no idea what nighlife is all about. Is not just clubs and bars. But if you think so then you must be very happy in Chicago.

Only in Chicago.
.
Wow. Board games. Chicago nightlife must be really great. I bet there are no board games / sport bars anywhere else in the country.
That's true though, if you are looking for something new, something original Chicago is a wrong place altogether.
