This is just meant for fun. Hypothetically the United States has to drop 2 states and get back to 48. Just your funny state impressions not a serious socio-economic debate. I would pick (1) Texas because they brag too much and want to be a seperate country anyway. (2) Florida, where I live now.. .because of Pee Wee Herman's arrest, election counts and dangling chads.

The worst states are all right in the middle of the country. North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma could all disappear overnight and I don't think anybody would notice or care. Although, I rather dislike the Deep South, at least they have the Gulf of Mexico going for them. What the hell does the Great Plains have?

Agriculture is overrated. It's better if we just import everything from China and play russian roulette with our dinner plates.

Yeah...who needs the abundance of natural resources the Great Plains bring? You know what? I'd like to be COMPLETELY dependent on foreign nations!

I say get rid of one of those tiny north eastern states like Rhode Island. Some of those states are merely there as a place to put more suburban sprawl for NYC, Boston, Philly, etc. Would the nation really miss Rhode Island?

Arkansas and Mississippi. These two states are the absolute armpit of the entire nation, and NOTHING would be missed by losing them.

Well I would pick on the basis of last hired, first fired....so Alaska and Hawaii would go. Plus I'm not even sure we acquired Hawaii legally anyway.

California. It's just about a foreign country anyway...

New York, or more specifically, NYC. It seems they and the media think they're the only ones around anyway, let them go!

Although, I would hate to have to get a passport just to go boo the Yankees when the Red Sox play!
