North Florida is like Alabama if you will.. It's more redneck than you think.
North California has a more vibrant feel. It has San Francisco, Sacremento, mountains, and great weather.

South Florida has Miami.. It's better than LA. But the humidity is horrendous in SoFL especially, and the population makeup is the newly weds and nearly dead... So it's very slow paced compared to Southern California.

I'll also rather take South California over South Florida.

Florida is just a very slow paced state.

California is a huge state with so much to offer in terms of lifestyle. You can live in the mountains, by the beach ,etc

Florida on the other hand is just god waiting room and hot

I dissagree, I would say possibly Miami and Los Angeles share a good amount of similarities possibly more than any other two U.S. cities.
It is why Miami is considered a playground for hollywood!

EXACTLY. The only difference between the 2 is the mediterrenean climate LA has, and the sub tropical climate Miami has. If god put a desert in place of the everglades, and a few hills and mountains, you have LA #2. But I do think LA is the more exciting city then Miami is. But then again Miami is so small.

Northern California is nothing like Northern Florida.

I'd prefer California without much hesistation. Florida is flat and apart from the everglades, has a very boring topography. It is a flat with many suburban-style neighborhoods and small cities. I'd also prefer California weather over Florida weather. Florida gets plenty of rain and there is hurricane season to be alarmed about.

California on the other hand, is far more diverse than Florida. There are mountains that you can ski in and there are deserts of scorching heat. The topography of California as a whole is amazing. California does not get nearly as much rain as Florida and it is has more sunny days. The Bay Area is wonderful place that offers true urban living (San Francisco) and Southern California is another wonderful place with two large cities, one of them being the globally-known Los Angeles in which far more events happen in than anywhere in Florida.

In general, the beautiful scenery of California beats the beautiful scenery of Florida.

I would love to see just one thread were people have a civilized conversation without statments like "this place is great, the other place is Trashy". To much to ask for on this forum.

I like Florida better. But I don't see how there is much of a "lifestyle difference. Except for topography, I don't see that big of a difference between Southern CA and Central and South Florida. Both are nice states and two of my favorites. I could live in either

Then you obviously have never been to Southern California. The lifestyle is very different. Many places in Central and even South Florida still have a very Southern culture and lifestyle.
