Haha, and all this time I thought those who argue with me and have issues with me were a lot older than me. Note to self: Let it roll off my back and not take them so seriously

I think a lot of the people on General US are the younger CD crowd. If you go to the specific forums, they're usually 30+ I notice.

Lol, wow. I always had you pegged as older than me for some reason. Not old in a bad way though!

That seems a bit stereotyped.

On some literature forums I go to they get a fair amount of people over 60. (And going by what one author told me some seniors, or at least him, go to pornography forums.) Anyway I think some religious and healthcare sites also get older posters. That might be stereotyping too, but it fits some of my actual experience.

Still I might agree that generally older people do use the Internet more for "practical" purposes like e-mail, research, or shopping and not so much for socializing or discussion.

I have to say, I had most of these people pegged correctly. I know it would be opening oneself up to critisism, but I think it would be fun for people to guess what age other people are. How old do you think I am?

I guess I don't fit the mold. I am 60 and you can see how much I am on from the number of my posts. I do go on shopping sites, but I belong to a few political forums also. I am not retired, but I work in the schools so I have a lot of time off, like now. As I have said, I hibernate now living in this state because the sun and heat bothers me here.

If I had never moved, I probably would never haven even come to this site. I know, I know. Don't say it.

Do you get on this site because you can talk with NYers? Or because FL is very boring? Just wondering.

I like talking with New Yorkers, and especially those who were originally from the NE, moved to Florida, left, and feel the same way I do about it.

I also like giving information on NYC, and NY in general, since I am a native who lived there for over half a century. I feel I know a bit about the place with all that.

Of course it was stereotyped... I'm aware that seniors have other interests besides geraniums and repairing model airplanes.

They also like to share photos, research the dangers of using an ATM, and get knitting ideas.
