I think in general the most crowded cities and the most auto oriented cities will have the worst road rage....everything in between not quite so much. My reasoning being that in crowded, dense, and congested cities, people get frustrated because everyone's in their way....And in extremely auto-oriented cities, people will sometimes get mad just because you have the nerve to walk or ride a bike, instead of drive. It's like they don't know how to drive around anything besides other cars, so they get angry at you.
Some examples of San Francisco Road rage from the past couple years:
Man shot to death on the freeway with his kids in the back seat, because he exchanged mean looks with people in another car: Sons watch as dad is shot dead on I-280
Woman shot to death while driving, also with her kids in the car...her brother and one of her 2 year-old sons were also shot: Mother of 6 dies from shots on freeway
I once knew another SF resident who claimed to have emptied the magazine of his gun into the hood of a car that cut him off on the freeway. He wasn't a very law-abiding person in general as you can guess. Some guy got out of his car at a stoplight and tried to punch my uncle through his window once too.
We also have plenty of bicycle rage, thanks in large part to Critical Mass(holes).
I wonder how they do these surveys to determine what city has the most road rage? How do you quantify it? Do you use Chi-square distribution observed over expected or do you just go on old data and compare with other cities.
I wanted to keep NYC and LA out of the poll though.
Oops too late lol.. You should have state that when you created the thread lol.
