^ After living in Atlanta for 5 years I find it offers overall less entertainment value (at least to me) than any of the major northeastern cities or Miami. It is less cosmopolitan than the cities it ranks above in this study and lacks the critical mass/density and the vibrant pedestrian cores common to other cities. I disagree that it offers more than Philadelphia or Boston and I doubt it offers more than San Francisco.

Dallas, although I am less familiar with it, is likely in the same boat. I am surprised it is at #10.

Regardless, I merely stated that I think #6 is too high for Atlanta. This is not the same as saying "Atlanta is boring." I just don't agree it offers more than Boston, Philly, and San Francisco. I think it is stretching to put Atlanta at #10. I'd rank it somewhere between #11-15.

Look at how Forbes done the ratings and you'll see why Atlanta is ranked so high rather than just not wanting Atlanta on the list.

Dallas...I really cant say because I'm not sure about Dallas since I never partied there.

^My assessment is based on living in Atlanta and comparing my living experience there to that of other cities....It is not based on merely not wanting it on the list..

I know, in large part, how Atlanta got its high rating. It says right in the article that it was largely based on Atlanta's large number of restaurants. I don't necessarily disagree but I find northeastern cities to be better balanced and are strong in a variety of things, including restaurants... All IMHO.

EDIT: For instance, according to their own article, Philly has more restaurants than Atlanta anyways.. Not to mention many more museums, bars, nearly as many clubs..etc.

I've found it is a cosmopolitan, sophistication, quality and refinement thing. Atlanta offers a lot and is good at what it does, but not for the nyc crowd. I don't think they were ranking cities on cultural taste and offerings, but #'s to try to be as objective as possible. I'm sure it DOES entertain a lot of people. I know a lot of people on here will disagree with me, but hey I'm okay with that. I know others who have been around know exactly what I am talking about. Agreeing with everybody is probably the worst thing you can do.
