South by Southwest. Can't get that in Houston or Dallas but it attracts a lot of people in Austin.

They put on some pretty big shows in Las Vegas that you can't see here. People don't just go to Las Vegas to gamble. They also go for the shows.

Trust me I've been there, and I know about the different attractions outside of the Strip. Many people have moved there and were dissappointed by what they got because of how they assumed how entertaining the city would be.

Your speaking on events that come once a year. Houston has plenty of events; maybe not on the scale of SXSW, but still pretty fun.

Really? In one night do you have a choice of seeing 10 magic shows, 18 comedy shows, 12 tribute shows, and 17 adult shows, for example?

I doubt I'd want to see all those shows in one night, but yeah I probably could. Lots of different clubs and shows going on around Houston every night.

Dude, come on...Not even NY has entertainment on the scale of Las Vegas, and you think Houston does???

Indeed. How dare we defend our hometowns against crass, overgeneralized and baseless commentary? Such hubris

I'd put LA metro at #1. Just for the sheer amount of things to do outside of the LA city limits:Santa Monica, Disneyland, Venice Beach, Long Beach, Catalina Island, OC, Malibu, Universal Studios which is more then just a theme park, it has TV studios and live recordings(It's in Universal City not LA City limits), Snow Skiing in San Berbardino Mountains, or the San Gabriel Mountains, or hiking, there is just SOOO much to do inside and OUTSIDE the LA city limits. That's why I think LA should be #1.

lol well they have much different entertainment (casinos, adult shows). But Las vegas is known as the entertainment capital of the country...I'm just giving props to another city. NYC is probably tied with Las Vegas.
