Atlanta isn't that much larger than Boston or San Francisco area wise, and most of it's clubs are clustered in districts (as well as museums, theaters, and tourist attractions). But why is it important to be able to walk after partying? In my book, if you can still walk straight after a night out on the town then you didn't have a good time.
Atlanta- 131 sq miles of land
Boston- 48 sq miles of land
San francisco- 46 sq miles of land
Both San francisco and Boston have more people than Atlanta in the city proper, as well as far larger Metro areas with other interesting cities included.
And if by "districts" you mean stripmalls, then youre correct.
Have you never been out in Atlanta to party? The taxis hang out like roaches in front of every club. You don't even have to wave you hand, just stumble up to the door and they'll open it for you.
No offense, but Atlanta (for the most part) is a sprawling, generic wasteland of stripmalls. If you think Atlanta belongs on a list of entertaining places, it's because you haven't been anywhere else. Seriously. And I've been to Atlanta three times this year. Buckhead is so overrated and generic it's not even funny.
i thought the "old" buckhead was one of better party strips. i had a great time. although now, i believe its all fancy condos.
Indeed. At one point Buckhead had the highest concentration of bars, clubs and restaurants in the country outside of the French Quarter in New Orleans.
People's ignorance about Atlanta is just sheer comedy. You can only laugh after a weekend of club-hopping, museum-going, and wine-sipping all while saving more money than the haters can even spend in their expensive city living in arrogant isolation. Keep the hate coming, it just makes my enjoyment of the A all the more pleasurable.

no offense but what was at one point in time and clearly no longer, which is much more important!
let's see. This whole saving more money is bogus. You think all those people living NYC, SF, DC, Boston are going to go broke? All of my friends in northeast seem to be doing quite fine while doing more then most of the people I know here

Please comprehend the difference between "saving more money" and "going broke." Please also note that it is implied that I'm talking about myself; therefore my statements pertain to me and not your friends.
My comment about Buckhead was not a testament to Atlanta today and had nothing to do with importance. It was clearly to support someone else's conception about the "old" Buckhead.

lol..... The A......
Are you not familiar with this terminology? Only tourists and people who've never been to Atlanta call it Hotlanta, and "the A" has come to replace the ATL among us young folks.

I have friends here both from Atlanta and transplants. Nobody calls it Hotlanta or the A. Just Atlanta.
no offense but to my ears "the A" sounds so tacky like a cheerleader yelling out a letter. I like the way Atlanta sounds, Atlanta is a pretty name for a city.
