Seems like people always bring 100 different categories into these polls when the question is always _SKYLINE_ battle. If that's the only issue being discussed, then who cares about what is going on at the street level?
I wholeheartedly think that Boston has an incredible street level life with centuries of history, but how does that impact what I think of their skyline? For as dense as the city is, they have not built that far up, so Houston wins in this category.

Agreed. People always comment how nice Houston's skyline is, but bring in the fact that Boston's downtown is more vibrant.
When I brought it up, I was referring to how the skyline looks when you're standing in the city versus if you were viewing it from several miles away. I'm not talking about foot traffic, downtown populations, etc...just looking at it strictly from a visual standpoint.

That wasn't directed at you. More toward the people who vote based off city vibrancy instead of just the actual skyline.
I'm not saying Boston dosen't deserve to win this, but at least be less biased.
So what skyline do you like better in Density, Beauty, Vibrancy, etc.
Both cities have impressive buildings and Houston's skyline has some taller towers.
But for overall density, variety and beauty; I'd have to vote for Boston.
What we're talking aboutSkyline: Houston
Strengths: Height/size, uniform modernity
Street level: Boston
Strengths: "flavors," waterfront, and mystery to each street.
I say Boston has mystery because with all the beautiful winding streets, you're never really sure what's coming...where as in Houston's sparseness (despite the greenery) you can see it from a mile away..."TIMMY CHAN'S" or "ZONE D'EROTICA" LMAO!
