does anybody from charlotte know of the future plans for uptown charlotte? just curious as to if there is a plan out there to build a midtown, downtown, etc.
and what about another line for the light rail system?
i really wish they could cut costs across the board across the nation when it comes to things like this. we have a few extensions here that are being worked on as i type this but it costs so much.
I wish I could revote. I orginally voted for Charlotte(Hometown), now I want to change it to downtown Atlanta. After spending nearly everyday of the past 3.5 years downtown at GSU staring at the weird Georgia-Pacific building I have grown to love downtown Atlanta.
But Uptown is nice and if you havent been there you should really visit and the light rail is nice to ride(sans the horrible grinding of the rail that you here in slow light rail compared to not as bad grinding on faster heavy rail.)
As a native Charlottean I voted for Atlanta. While Charlotte is nice and I think it punches above its weight class, Atlanta's DT IMO is bigger and taller. I think it reflects the size of the metro instead of what the city limits suggest.
Those are indeed some hot photos. Atlanta truly has an impressive skyline. Its density is impeccable. While Charlotte has been increasing its density, there are still quite a bit of surface lots.

Yes, its not to say that Charlotte doesnt have an impressive skyline. Moreover, Charlotte has worked hard to make their CBD an appealing place to recreate. It frankly trumps downtown Atlanta on this score (but not Midtown).
