Good thread. I see VA is on here, but not Richmond VA which is a very different scene from the 7 Cities rap scene. Here are rappers and songs that are, or were real popular in the area.
Here is DJ Khaled's new rapper Rum signed with Def Jam South.

"Do you hear what I heeeeaaar? Dat boom, Dat boom, ooh I like dat boom..."
kbank we should do 7 cities (757) vs. Richmond (804)
Yea that would be a good comparison right there. Its funny how the scenes are so different and they are only one hour apart. I like music from both regions of VA to be honest with you. I live in Tidewater VA now. Many of your artist have more of an eastcoast sound while most of the Richmond/Petersburg rappers sound southern and rep the top of the south.
Good post. I love Texas music mane. From Willie D, Scarface, Z-Ro, UGK, Slim Thug, Trae, Fat Pat, to the old Lil Flip. It's something about the H-Town hiphop that I have always liked. I guess my hiphop taste is real versatile because my two favorite cities for hiphop outside of VA are Houston, and Philadelphia which are two completely different scenes.
