No the difference is we all have an opinion; but plenty of people from LA have made the comparison. It's you who keep thinking everyone wants to be like LA; when its just a simple comparison.

Yes, they are MSA numbers.

Houston has alot more African Americans.

Why is it that everyone who tries to compare LA to Houston on here is from Houston and its never the other way around? I love Houston, but its not LA. LA isnt Houston. They are their own cities that have similarities, but are still very different.
Yeah people have been saying the cities resemble for a WHILE on C-D. We're not just saying this just for no reason. I undestand what you mean: Politically, Geographically, Climatically, Culturally, they are NOTHING alike. I agree, but they also have many similarities. It's not just Texans that say this, maybe on THIS thread it's only Texans, but in past threads this has been discussed for quite awhile, and Texans AND Californians were ALWAYS in accordance with this.(where's califonialove when you need him/her). I'm just shocked at the amount of people who ALL OF A SUDDEN think otherwise. It's kinda like if EVERYONE concluded that TX is 100% in the Southwest, even after ALL THAT time people spent saying it was in the South. Just out of nowhere. I can understand why YOU don't think there alike, but this was common knowledge a while back.

Naw, ATL doesn't have that LARGE Mexican presence. ATL does have it's similarities with the hills though.

Both cities are very different and unique without many cities to compare to, but Houston and LA (only LA, not the Inland Empire or OC) I feel are similar enough to compare. However, Houston being a baby LA is a little much.
Exactly.

I never said they were wrong. I'm just saying you and others are accusing Houstonians of making this comparison up.

Mexican presence wasn't mentioned...I was only talking about the characteristics mentioned in that one post. God, I've had to explain myself 12 times over that one response! Texas, people...calm down please.

It just wouldn't be city data if we didn't have arguments; however I agree with you. I just think in general a better comparison to LA would be Houston more than Atlanta.
